Location:-
High on a cliff in the Northern Frontier District overlooking
a deep river gorge, Sabuk is a striking lodge set in one of Africa’s
last real wilderness areas. Vast and varied, this hilly land dotted
with acacia bushes, patches of forest and striped with lush river
valleys is host to a cornucopia of game that changes with the
seasons.

Accommodation:- The lodge has
5 open sided cottages with verandah, shower and toilet, each with
its own fabulous view. Sabuk was fashioned out of the local landscape,
built with local materials, the hillside, flora, twisted wood
and stone boulders incorporated into the architecture. Open walls
and private verandahs face out over the river gorge 150 feet below.
Activities:- Night
and day game drives, horse riding, lazy hours spent by the river
and bush breakfasts are tailored to suit individual requirements.
However, it is the camel safaris led by Samburu guides which are
the highlight of Sabuk.
The local tribesmen, who are immensely welcoming, are ever willing
to share their bushcraft, tracking skills and knowledge of the
indigenous flora and fauna. Overnight camel treks into the wilderness
with supper on a sandy river bank and tranquil sleep under the
stars, is a heart warming experience not to be missed.
